Professional & Administrative Experience
Teaching Math and Science — Chemistry, Biology & Physics — at the middle school, high school, and undergraduate levels. Extensive experience training students for SAT, ACT, MCAT, and other standardized exams.
Overseeing NFCR fundraising programs including Major Gift, Marketing & Communications, and Corporate & Foundation programs. Working with the NFCR science department to expand tissue bank initiatives in Asia.
Led Microarray analysis using the Affymetrix platform and provided gene expression analysis using real-time PCR. Supported 72 RO1 & several other grants from Mayo investigators with microarray experiments and data analysis.
Directed DNA extraction and genotyping, custom microarray analysis, and proteomics analysis using tandem mass spectrometry to identify protein biomarkers. Supported kinetic studies in diabetes, liver disease, and obesity. Served 58 Mayo investigators across 44 NIH grants (41 RO1, 2 Program projects, 1 SPORE Grant).
Teaching science to graduate students and conducting research in the areas of aging, diabetes, and cancer.
